What is Inspire group?

The Inspire Group is a supportive, inclusive programme dedicated to promoting independence, good mental health, life skills, and a strong sense of belonging for individuals with learning disabilities. Running as a yearly programme, Inspire offers a variety of themed sessions tailored to the needs of every participant.
In 2025, the group explored topics such as the independent skills, public services, personal hygiene, wildlife, and world culture—chosen to expand knowledge, encourage creativity, and ensure everyone has fun while feeling fully included.
Inspire strongly believes in integration and community involvement, actively encouraging members to take part in voluntary work such as litter picking and gardening to support their local area. Above all, Inspire Group is a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can be themselves, build confidence, form connections, and enjoy every session.

Monday Group

Monday Group is a mostly non-verbal group whose members sit on the lower end of the spectrum, and Inspire sessions are carefully designed to help them learn, grow, and develop skills they can use beyond the programme. We fully adapt every session to meet their individual needs, using symbols to support communication and ensuring routines and visual schedules are prepared in advance, as consistency is vital for their comfort and confidence.
Their sessions are sensory-based to maximise engagement, and they attend a local centre where access to a sensory room provides enjoyment, stimulation, and a calm space to explore. As Monday Group is a new addition to Cambrian Village Trust, we are continually evolving, adapting, and placing the individuals at the heart of every decision to ensure we deliver the best, most meaningful experience possible within Inspire Group.

Tuesday Group

Tuesday Group is a diverse group of individuals with a wide range of disabilities and learning needs, and their Inspire sessions focus mainly on engaging, educational topics. In 2025, the group explored the human body, public services, space, wildlife, and world culture—each chosen for its real-life relevance and ability to build confidence and understanding.
Learning about the human body helps individuals recognise differences between male and female bodies and understand when something may be wrong, empowering them to seek help.
Public services supports their awareness of emergency services and teaches them who to contact in different situations. Space encourages imagination, curiosity, and creative expression, while wildlife makes use of the beautiful natural surroundings at Cambrian Village Trust, allowing individuals to explore nature and strengthen community engagement.
World culture broadens their awareness of different beliefs, traditions, and ways of life, promoting respect, understanding, and inclusion. Throughout the year, Tuesday Group also enjoys local day trips that further connect them with their community. Tuesday Group is truly a joyful, caring, and uplifting group, filled with happiness, enthusiasm, and kindness in every session.

Thursday Group

Thursday Group has undergone a significant and exciting change in 2025, as Cambrian Village Trust explored how to introduce a qualification-based session that could be fully adapted to meet the needs of each individual. This new qualification group is still developing, and we are assessing its success to determine whether it will continue into 2026 and beyond.
After careful consideration, we selected qualifications that would be most meaningful in everyday life—Essential Skills for Work and Life, Exploring Occupations, Independent Skills, and Social & Community—all at Entry Level 2, with the aim of progressing to Entry Level 3 in the future.
Every workbook, activity, and task has been tailored to the individuals’ abilities, supported by witness statements and photographic evidence to ensure accessibility and success. Although the workload has been challenging, it has proven highly effective, as the individuals are clearly learning, retaining, and applying the knowledge outside of Inspire sessions. Thursday Group also enjoy local trips that encourage community engagement and real-world learning. They work exceptionally well as a team, with inclusion at the heart of every session, and I am incredibly proud of how they have embraced these changes and continue to thrive together through their qualification journey.

Why do we do it?

At Inspire Group, we support individuals with learning needs because everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and feel valued within their community. Our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where each person can develop essential life skills, build confidence, and gain independence at their own pace.
Many individuals with learning needs face barriers that limit their opportunities, so Inspire Group works to remove those barriers through adapted sessions, personalised approaches, and meaningful experiences.
By offering structured routines, creative topics, sensory activities, qualifications, and community involvement, we empower individuals to understand themselves, explore their interests, and thrive both inside and outside the programme. Ultimately, we believe in equality, inclusion, and the right for every individual—regardless of ability—to feel supported, connected, and capable in their daily lives.
